From Friday, October 23 through Sunday, October 25, 2026, we are paying homage to a century of American open-road freedom. We have mapped out a 3-day, 600-mile loop engineered specifically for our vintage cars. We are completely bypassing the boring interstate drones in favor of sweeping high-desert blacktop, historic two-lane valleys, and the legendary, white-knuckle mountain switchbacks of Sitgreaves Pass.

The Mission: Hunt Down the Historic Passport Stamps!
This isn’t just a cruise—it’s an official automotive scavenger hunt. Every driver/navigator team will be outfitted with an official Arizona Route 66 Passport Book to chronicle our journey.

As we roar through historic outposts, we will be stopping to hunt down custom, location-specific rubber passport stamps. From old-school train depots to sovereign tribal lands and ghost towns guarded by wild burros, your passenger’s main job will be collecting all 6 historic checkpoints to prove your Porsche conquered the Mother Road.

Trip Details

Day 1

The Mountain Climb (162 Miles)


We blast off from Cave Creek, bypassing the heavy highway traffic to snake our way up the stunning Yavapai backroads through Cordes Junction, Dewey-Humboldt, and Prescott Valley. After an epic group lunch and fuel stop in Chino Valley, we sail up the open-desert pavement of Highway 89, roll through Ash Fork, and make a grand entry into our Day 1 basecamp: Williams, AZ!

Day 2

The Mother Road & The Mountain Pass (194 Miles)

The ultimate driving day. We leave early to conquer the longest continuous remaining stretch of Route 66. We will stop for stamps in the neon-soaked town of Seligman, dive 210 feet underground for a club tour and a very special lunch at the Grand Canyon Caverns, and bag our tribal stamp in Peach Springs. After a quick high-octane refuel in Kingman, we tackle the tight hairpins over the Black Mountains into the Oatman ghost town, before returning for our final overnight stay in Kingman.

Day 3

(Sunday, Oct 25): The Scenic Ridge Run Home (234 Miles)

We clear out of Kingman and point the noses south down the high-speed sweeps of US-93. We will pull into historic downtown Wickenburg for lunch on your own and to throw down a final splash of premium fuel, and fly across the sweeping curves of the Carefree Highway to cross the official finish line right back to the comfort of your own home.

Grand Canyon Railway Hotel (Williams)

10/23 – Rooms are limited, and our host hotel at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel (Williams) did not offer room blocks, nor discounts, so booking ASAP will guarantee your room on Friday, 10/23.You can book online or call (928) 635-4010. Standard room $247.58, Deluxe $271.16, Refreshed room $259.00. Other options are also available close by-for instance, LaQuinta Inn, 0.3 miles away on Booking.com at $132 for King room (I chose this option). Also, there are restaurants available on the itinerary in Williams. This evening is “dine on your own”, so please check restaurants and book early if you want to eat at Miss Kitty’s Steakhouse, or any requiring reservations.

La Quinta Inn, 3419 Hotel Wy., Kingman

10/24 – Due to a huge rap concert in Laughlin (our intended second night stay) we are going back through Kingman. There is a block of rooms under AZ Outlaws at the La Quinta Inn, 3419 Hotel Wy., Kingman for Saturday, 10/24, (928) 327-0138. King room $183.25 (includes taxes) and double queen, $197.00 (includes taxes) however, I was able to find better pricing for this hotel on Booking.com. The block will expire 30 days before the event. This just assures you are able to secure a room.
